YouTube excited in holding its first video awards |

In New York City- Last Monday You Tube, the popular video sharing
website, announced that they will be sponsoring and holding the first
You Tube Video Awards in recognition to the best-user created videos of
the year 2006.
The categories are as follows: most creative, most inspirational, best
series, best comedy, musician of the year, best commentary and most
adorable video ever.
Starting on Monday and concluding Friday the members in the community
can begin voting on their favorites. The nominees can be seen at www.youtube.com/YTAwards.
The winners that are voted by the community members will be announce on
the 25th of March. The winners will be featured prominently and will
receive a trophy.
Among the nominees are as follows: Paul Robinett (Renetto) and Peter
Oakley, The comedy of Barats and Berata and Smosh, Lonelygirl15’s and
Ask a Ninja and a lot more to mention.
According to Byrne whether YouTube Video Awards becomes permanent or
not what’s important is that they will be able to see how the community
responds to it. For YouTube this is something big that they expect to
develop as they grow and become bigger and more exciting in the coming
years.
It is reported that YouTube had attracted around 133.5 million visitors all over the world in the month Of January.
